NEXT Photo Shoot

image

A selfie from today’s  photo shoot formy NEXT live brief project at uni. I was modelling as well as doing makeup, so my top is a preview  of the group’s final designs.

Products:
Base:
L’oreal True Match foundation in N2
Illamasqua cream blusher in Rude
Illamasqua translucent powder

Eyes:
Kat Von D Shade and Light eye contour pallet in Solas
Benefit Bad Gal Mascara

Lips:
Illamasqua Sheer Lip gloss in Artifice

My T-shirt designs

I used photoshop to turn my photos black and white. I then put washes of colour over the images to make them suit the colour palette my group chose. I then put a basic template on top so I could see my prints as t shirts.
I’m happy with what I came up with, I think I managed to create some interesting,  abstract prints.

Makeup Charts

As the make up artist in the group, it was my responsibility to research makeuptrends for Spring/Summer 2016 and combine it with research the kind of makeup NEXT like to use for their campaigns.
There are always designers, such as Victoria Beckham, who like a clean,  natural look for their makeup. This fits with NEXT’s natural but polished look.

DIY Jeans

I saw an idea on pinterest for custom jeans, where the pattern was made of cross shaped sections that hadn’t been bleached. I decided I  had to have a pair! Unfortunately,  I got over excited with the bleach, so most of the crosses were disappeared and the ones that are left aren’t very clear. I still love my jeans, but I’m  thinking of experimenting on them with different colours of dye to see what I can make.

Out in Nottingham

I wanted to experiment with coming up with my own prints for the NEXT project. Since my group chose to work with abstract prints for our collection, I went out in Nottingham and took photos of shapes and patterns I found interesting. I’m hoping to edit them and put them in the colours we choose, to create potential prints.

Live Brief: Client Meeting

This year includes a live brief, working with real industry clients. I enjoy fashion makeup, and there’s a design/customisation aspect to my work based project so I chose the NEXT brief. I thought this would gice me the opportunity to learn from other creatives on working with fabrics.

The first thing we did was meet Dan Arab from NEXT, who took us through the trends NEXT are working with for Spring/Summer 2016.

My Halloween Make Up

I was aiming for Maleficent, but I have to admit it ended up more vampire. Unfortunately working at my bar job for Halloween means that I couldn’t go as gory as I would have liked but I’m happy with the finished look. I didn’t think the lip scar all the way through, it didn’t stand up to eating, drinking or talking very well.
